M.ED., VICE PRESIDENT OF EDUCATION
Mike was born and raised in Westerly Rhode Island. He was a former athlete in basketball, football and baseball where he was recruited by the Philadelphia Philly’s. He began his teaching career at East Greenwich High School and then became the Education Director of Special Services in Coventry Public Schools for 29 year. He came to Tides Family Service in 1999.
He started the Tides Day School program and he provides educational advocacy services that include site school based support. He holds a life certification as a Special Education Teacher and Administrator of Special Education in Rhode Island. His 19 years of experience at Tides Family Services includes the expansion of educational services for RI students in our West Warwick and Pawtucket Schools. He also began Education Advocates of Rhode Island, a nonprofit providing educational advocacy services for families who need support. His proudest moment at Tides has been watching the number of graduates increase and then seeing them return successfully having employment and doing well in life.
