Over 400 served at Tides Family Services’ Christmas Parties

Tides Family Services provided dinner and Christmas gifts to over 400 people in Pawtucket, Providence and West Warwick locations.  This was the most served to date!  “It shows a great need in our community.  It shows us that our families trust us.  It shows us why each and every day we do our work…they need us.” stated Beth Bixby, Chief Operating Officer. “We not only serve the identified client, we serve the entire family, especially during the holidays.  We had no idea we were going to serve so many this year but we are incredibly grateful that we had partners in our community to help.”
We knew funds were limited this year.  We reached out to local businesses and individuals to see if they could help and they responded with open arms!  Companies had Giving Trees in their offices. Some donated food for our dinner, some adopted a family, some gave gift cards.
In particular, we would like to thank Linear Title Company, Washington Trust Co., LaSalle Academy, Woods Tavern, Ace Entertainment, Ocean State Job Lot, Eleven Forty-Nine Restaurant, Centreville Bank, Aussant Electric, Hardcore Hobbies, Stork’s Nest, Anchor Subaru, Anchor Nissan,  Dean Hotel, Knead Donuts, Pizza J’s, The Grange in Providence, The Salon on Mendon and Bayside Soccer and the many individuals who adopted families this year.  Your generosity was amazing and impactful.  It was great to see the kids be very thankful for the Christmas presents.  It was humbling when one boy was just as excited to have two styrofoam boxes of rice and left overs to take home. He stated,  “Mom, look, we now have food for the next two nights.”  We look forward to celebrating next year.
